SpaceRover
Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 14, 2026
Local filesystem data
SpaceRover reads filesystem metadata such as names, paths, sizes, timestamps, file types, and access errors to display disk usage and make cleanup recommendations. Scan results, snapshots, cleanup queues, local logs, settings, license state, and Smart Cleanup reports stay on your computer unless you explicitly share them. SpaceRover does not upload scan trees or file contents during normal scanning, comparison, or cleanup.
Diagnostics telemetry
Crash and error diagnostics are enabled by default and can be turned off in Settings → Telemetry. When enabled, SpaceRover may send Sentry the app version, operating system, CPU architecture, UI language, theme, cleanup mode, scan-scope setting, coarse license state, excluded-path count, error messages, and limited diagnostic breadcrumbs.
Before transmission, SpaceRover removes user, request, device-context, and server-name fields and redacts absolute Unix, Windows drive-letter, home-relative, and UNC paths. SpaceRover does not create an advertising identifier or use telemetry for advertising or cross-app tracking. Turning telemetry off does not prevent feedback that you explicitly submit.
Feedback
If you use the in-app feedback form, SpaceRover sends Sentry the text you enter, an optional email address, app version, operating system, and CPU architecture. Do not include license keys or other secrets in feedback.
Licensing and purchases
SpaceRover Pro uses Dodo Payments for commerce and license services. Checkout, activation, and validation may cause Dodo Payments to process transaction, billing, fraud-prevention, tax, license-key, product-identifier, and device-instance data. SpaceRover does not itself receive or store full payment-card details. See the Dodo Payments Privacy Policy.
Service providers and retention
The configured Sentry project is hosted in the United States. Diagnostic and feedback event data is retained for no longer than 90 days unless deleted sooner. Dodo Payments retains purchase, license, tax, fraud-prevention, and compliance records under its privacy policy and applicable law. Local SpaceRover data remains until you remove it, reset the app, or uninstall it, subject to operating-system package-data behavior.
Your choices and requests
You can disable diagnostics, inspect local logs, deactivate a license, or uninstall SpaceRover. For privacy questions or access or deletion requests, email support@spacerover.space with “Privacy request” in the subject, or use the in-app feedback form.
Ordinary diagnostic events contain no account or stable user identifier, so SpaceRover may be unable to associate an anonymous event with a particular person. Feedback containing an email address can be located using that address.
Changes
This policy may be updated when SpaceRover's data practices or service providers change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
